Alexis Bellino is no longer tied down and she's loving it. The former Real Housewives of Orange Country star recently announced her divorce from her husband Jim, and she's since declared herself an "independent woman" in a post on Instagram. Read on for more details.
"Happy INDEPENDENCE Day friends!" Alex captioned a pic of her in a bikini on the Fourth of July. She added the hashtags, "#july4th #independent #woman#letfreedomring #alisalduderanch#withmykids."
Jim filed for divorce from Alexis last month after 13 years of marriage.
The reality TV star's ex is asking for spousal support, along with joint legal and physical custody of their three children — James, Mackenna, and Melania.

"It is with heavy hearts that we inform the public of our mutual decision to end our marriage—but it’s important to us that you know we made this choice together, with love, and as the best decision for our children’s future," the couple’s statement said. "We hold one another in the highest regards as spouses, and especially as parents. We have agreed on 50/50 custody of the children, and we ask that you respect our privacy by not theorizing about the reasons for our divorce."
The estranged couple reached a custody agreement late last month.
