Coming Home: Alex Rodriguez Makes Big Return To The New York Yankees!

New York Yankees fans are in for a big treat, as one of their legendary players Alex Rodriguez is back with the organization! He announced the news about what his new role will be in a truly emotional statement. Click through to read all the details!
Alex played with the Yankees from 2004-2013, and then for one more season in 2015-2016 until his release. He helped them win the World Series Championship back in 2009.
This time around, his position with the organization is more behind the scenes, as he will be a special advisor to general manager Brian Cashman.
"These are exciting times for the New York Yankees, and I do not take this opportunity for granted,” he said in a statement. “I am genuinely thankful for the trust the organization has placed in me, and I am looking forward to lending whatever support or expertise is needed of me. I continue to cherish The Pinstripes, the fans and my involvement with the Steinbrenner family, Brian Cashman, and his world-class staff.”

He’s joining fellow NYY legends Hideki Matsui, Reggie Jackson and Nick Swisher in the role. On top of this new and exciting position, he is also joining ESPN’s Sunday Night Baseball broadcasting team while continuing his role as a MLB postseason analyst for Fox. Busy guy!
His personal life has also been booming, as he just celebrated his one-year anniversary with girlfriend Jennifer Lopez. The couple were spotted going jewelry shopping Miami earlier this month. Could there be a different kind of celebration this year as well for the two of them?
