Amanda Bynes Graduates From FIDM Months After Entering Rehab For Stress-Induced Relapse
Amanda Bynes is celebrating an academic milestone. On June 24, the former actress announced that she has graduated from Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising. The ceremony comes just months after she stepped away from the spotlight once again and renewed her commitment to her mental health and education.
Amanda, 33, posted a picture of herself and a friend decked out in black caps and gowns.
“FIDM graduate 2019,” she proudly wrote in the caption.
In November 2018, the What I Like About You alum was featured in a interview for Paper Magazine. Amanda spoke candidly about her mental health, her past drug abuse, and her desire to return to the acting world.
The interview quickly went viral and Amanda found herself thrust into the spotlight for the first time in years.

However, the increased media scrutiny proved to be overwhelming and by January 2019, she had checked back into rehab to cope with the stress.
During an interview, Amanda’s lawyer Tamar Arminak explained that her acting plans were on hold and she was focusing on her time at FIDM. “She absolutely is still studying and she’s so amazed with FIDM because, as a school, they’ve been so supportive of her this entire time,” Tamar said at the time. “She can’t wait to get back to the FIDM campus and be creative again.”
