Andy Cohen is "begging" Wendy Williams to join the cast of The Real Housewives of New York City, sources told Rob Shuter for his STRAIGHT SHUTER podcast on Monday, July 29.
"Andy wants Wendy and is doing whatever it takes to get her to sign up, even if only for one season," the source explained.
The source added, "The franchise is looking for some stunt casting to make the show fresh and exciting. Post-split from her longtime husband, Wendy is the hottest lady in NYC.”
Andy, 51, saw what a boost The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills got with the addition of celebrity cast member Denise Richards and he's eager to have that happen on RHONY.

"Andy is begging Wendy to just think about joining the show for one season. Having celebrities join the cast of RHOBH has made that franchise a huge hit, now producers want to do the same with RHONY," the insider revealed.
The Bravo boss also wants the cast to better reflect the diversity of the metropolis. "How much longer can a show set in New York have no black women as one of its lead characters?" the source questioned.
If Wendy agrees, she can expect a massive paycheck! "She would be guaranteed to be the highest paid housewife. Ever!" the insider noted.
