Ariana Grande Responds To Claims That She's Exploiting The LGBTQ Community By Headlining Manchester Pride

Ariana Grande surprised fans earlier this week when she announced she would be heading back to Manchester, UK, two years after her concert attack. The pop star is set to headline the Manchester Pride Festival in August. But she is now responding to rumors that she's using her performance to exploit the LGBTQ community.
Because of the expensive price of the festival tickets and the lack of representation, some fans weren't having it.
The 25-year-old addressed fans' claims in a long tweet.
The "7 Rings" singer explained, "I have nothing to do with ticket pricing — Manchester Pride sets those rates, and they're mostly out of my control."

"I just wanna put on a show that makes my LGBTQ fans feel special and celebrated. That's all I wanna do."
She continued, "Over the years, pride events have been headlined by performers and artists of all sexual orientations and genders, including straight allies like Cher and Kylie Minogue...I do think there's room for us to talk about these issues without equating a performance for an LGBTQ audience with exploitation of the LGBTQ community."
