Ariana Grande SLAMS Pete Davidson On Twitter

Nov. 2 2018, Updated 12:55 p.m. ET
Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson split earlier this month, and the two had been keeping things pretty low-key after calling off their engagement. The former couple both took social media breaks, and neither of them confirmed the news outright. However, that all changed when the singer headed to Twitter and took a few pointed shots at her ex-fiancé. Read on to see what she had to say and to find out what got her so upset in the first place.

It all started with a promo for the upcoming episode of Saturday Night Live. In the clip, as he was onstage with Jonah Hill and singer Maggie Rogers, Pete made a mock wedding proposal to Maggie.

“Hey Maggie, I’m Pete. You wanna get married?” he asked her. When she declined, he looked into the camera and said, “0-for-three.”

The quip was, of course, a reference to his whirlwind engagement with Ariana. He popped the question and got several tattoos of the singer after only a few weeks of dating.

However, Ariana didn’t find Pete’s joke very funny and the 25-year-old quickly fired off a few now-deleted tweets. “For somebody who claims to hate relevancy u sure love clinging to it huh,” she wrote.

Though the “Sweetener” singer didn’t mentioned her ex by name, she did go on a pretty shady “liking” spree. One of the tweets she liked said, “SNL is about to milk their breakup just like they did with the engagement.”

Her fans also flooded her Twitter account with tons of supportive messages. One person wrote, “ He got kicked out of that $14 million penthouse you brought in your own name (he didn’t contribute a dollar) and lost his mind,” referring to the NYC apartment the pair shared.

However, the singer didn’t dwell on the commercial for too long. Only a few hours later, she wrote, “K that’s the last time we do that,” before deleting all of her previous tweets.
