Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson’s stint on reality television has come to an end. The singer/songwriter revealed on Monday, September 16, that their E! series, Ashlee + Evan, is officially dunzo.
Ashlee, 34, spoke about why she and Evan, 31, decided to not film the series anymore at the Simply & Fashion Island StyleWeek OC event.
“We are not doing that anymore,” Ashlee told Us Weekly exclusively. “We had so much fun doing it, but we’re both working on our own projects and we’re literally there with each other every day.”
The “Pieces of Me” singer also revealed that they “didn’t want to have our kids on TV for too long.”
Ashlee + Evan aired for six episodes from September to October 2018. The show followed them around as they juggled their professional and personal lives. Their daughter Jagger and Ashlee's son Bronx (with ex-husband Pete Wentz) were both featured on the E! series.
The show reportedly put a strain on their marriage after it concluded last year. “Ashlee assured Evan that the show would be a hit,” an OK! source claimed after their series netted low ratings on the E! network.
Ashlee is no stranger to reality television. Her first series, The Ashlee Simpson Show, helped propel her into superstardom and out of her famous older sister Jessica's shadow.

Jessica, 39, was having her own success on reality television at the time with her now ex-husband Nick Lachey. Their hit show, Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica, ran for three seasons on MTV. They filed for divorce in December 2005, nine months after the final episode aired.
Ashlee’s show helped her debut album, Autobiography, skyrocket on the charts as it was released while the first season of her show was still airing. The record debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, selling 398,000 copies in its first week and eventually going triple platinum.
The Ashlee Simpson Show also chronicled the backstage pandemonium at Saturday Night Live when she had her epic lip sync snafu in 2004. Her decision to not sing live and make excuses over why she didn’t hurt her career tremendously.

Ashlee’s time in the spotlight has had some exciting moments since then, like a stint on the Melrose Place reboot in 2009 and her portrayal of Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway that same year.
