Yesterday called to promote her film War. I asked her about the perks of her father owning Benihana steakhouse, and she said she’s been having birthday parties there every year since she was 2! Then, I was trying to get to do "Ask the OK! Shrink" this week, but it turns out he’s at a family wedding…
My author friend joined me for a screening of Good Luck Chuck at the Planet Hollywood screening room. We enjoyed the popcorn — and some people drank beer — while watching the comedy raunchfest with the NYC crew of movie reporters. My junket bud sat in front of me laughing riotously — it’s a movie guys will like.
To promote the film, the publicist sent me a package including a lil’ stuffed penguin (which my kittens Mysty and Spense — short for Mystery and Suspense — greatly enjoy), a “Chuck Buddy” T-shirt and Lucky Charms cereal (it’s magically delicious!).
Afterwards, we met up with our magazine comrade for dinner at Vynyl, this nightclub/diner-style restaurant complete with themed musical bathrooms featuring the music of etc. “Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene/I’m begging you please don’t take my man/Jolene, Jolene, Jolene, Jolene/Please don’t take him just because you can.”

Get this: my magazine pal says he didn’t get ice cream at Coldstone Creamery one night this summer because shut the place down. His secret service people were everywhere, and by the time the former commander-in-chief was done, Coldstone was closing. Let’s hope the former prez enjoyed that Cake Batter ice cream. ;)
