PHOTOS‘Bachelor’ Alum Lauren Bushnell & Country Singer Chris Lane Are Engaged — But Did She Just Call Relationship With Ben Higgins A 'Mistake'?

Bachelor alum Lauren Bushnell and country singer Chris Lane are engaged! The country crooner got down on one knee on June 16 in the backyard of Lauren’s family home in Oregon.

Chris, 34, wrote a song called “Big, Big Plans,” which he debuted to Lauren, 29, during the proposal. After he sang the lyrics, “Right now we’re back in her hometown and I’m down on one knee / I guess she finally figured out, I’m gonna ask her to marry me,” he proposed.
“I asked her parents for different places in Portland, I could potentially take her to, but after a lot of thought I decided doing it at the family cookout would be the most laid-back setting and that she’d appreciate the simplicity of me proposing to her in her parents’ backyard,” the country star exclusively told People on June 18.
He continued, “I was initially worried that doing it on Father’s Day might not be the best move, but her dad, Dave, said that it could only add to his Father’s Day and that’s when I decided Sunday, June 16 was the day.”

Lauren shared the news on Instagram and wrote, “I feel so incredibly blessed that every misstep, mistake and heartache has led me to you. I couldn’t be happier to call you mine, forever. The journey was well worth it. Thank you, Christopher Eric Lane, for softening my heart and making it whole. Never going to stop telling you how much I love you and I will hold onto you forever and ever!”
The Bachelor alum was engaged to Ben Higgins in March 2016 and split in May 2017. Her ex-fiancé has also moved on with girlfriend, Jessica Clarke.
Lauren went public with Chris in November 2018 and moved to Nashville in March 2019 to be with her man.
