'Bachelorette' Fans Furious After Rose Ceremony Is Interrupted For Trump's Handshake With Kim Jong Un

ABC thought that the historic handshake between President Donald Trump and North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un was more important than Becca Kufrin’s latest rose ceremony on The Bachelorette last night. Bachelor Nation, however, did not, and erupted on social media when the episode was interrupted over their decision.

Bachelor Nation huddled around their televisions to watch the latest episode of The Bachelorette last night, which had no shortage of drama, including one guy actually being rushed to the ICU after he fell off the top bunk of his bed.

At one point, ABC pulled away from the show to broadcast the historic handshake between Trump and Kim Jong Un at a special summit organized by the two men in Singapore.
Cue Bachelor Nation meltdown as several fans took to Twitter to voice their frustrations over the network’s decision. "Unless Trump is asking Kim who he thinks is getting a rose tonight, they can kindly get off my television,” one tweeted.

The official Twitter account for the show tried to reassure the viewers, saying "Don’t worry folks. #TheBachelorette will air in its entirety after the Special Report,” which it did.
Host Chris Harrison also did his best to alleviate the situation with some humor. "If the summit goes well they can forgo their individual countries and go straight to the fantasy country.”
