Yolanda Foster took to her blog on Bravo to defend her children, Bella and Anwar’s, battle with Lyme disease. The reality TV star also revealed Bella had to give up her “lifelong dream” of participating in the 2016 Olympics as an equestrian because of the debilitating illness.

Yolanda, 52, explained that Bella and Anwar have been receiving “extensive holistic treatments” for Lyme ever since their diagnosis three years ago.

She pointed out that it’s common for multiple family members to be affected by Lyme and they all probably contracted the tick borne illness from living on a horse ranch in Santa Barbara.

Bella, 19, had been affected enough to stop horseback riding, which she competed in regularly. “Bella had to give up her lifelong dream of having a professional riding career and a shot at the Olympics due to her severe symptoms and inability to ride. This was the biggest heartbreak of her life and an extremely sensitive subject for her,” Yolanda wrote.
