Colin Kaepernick was honored on Tuesday night by Sports Illustrated for taking a stand against the National Anthem in 2016 and later explaining he felt the flag “oppresses black people and people of color.” Since then, he pledged to donate $1 million dollars to “organizations working in oppressed communities.” For his efforts, he was presented with the prestigious Sports Illustrated Muhammad Ali Legacy award. But the biggest shocker of the night was the fact that Beyonce is the one who presented him with the award at Barclays Center in New York City, and fans definitely reacted!
One commenter said, “Call me soft or whatever but Beyonce really made my morning bro.” Ours too.
Another tweeted, “I don’t know if it’s because I’m just waking up or I’m just a sap for beautiful stories, but tears came to my eyes knowing that Colin is recognized for being a stellar human being AND that Beyonce presented that award.”
The audience cheered as Beyonce, 36, thanks the former NFL star for his "personal sacrifice." She looked phenomenal in a sparkling black and silver minidress that accentuated her toned legs. And let's not forget she just gave birth to twins six months ago. Look at this body!

It was unknown that Beyonce was going to be in attendance, let alone grace the stage. According to reports, her name was exempt from internal documents, and she was referred to as "Catherine Jones."
During his acceptance speech, Colin said, in part, "I accept this award not for myself, but on behalf of the people. Because if it was not for my love of the people, I would not have protested. And if it was not for the support of the people, I would not be on this stage today. With or without the NFL's platform, I will continue to work for the people, because my platform is the people."
