Bill Paxton died suddenly on February 25 at the age of 61. And now, the cause behind his untimely passing has been revealed.
According to reports, the Titanic actor underwent a valve replacement surgery on February 14, during which he suffered complications that led to a fatal stroke.
Bill died 11 days later at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.
The prolific actor’s death certificate also reveals that the surgery was meant to correct an aortic aneurysm problem.
Bill, the star of such films as Apollo 13 and Alien, was reportedly nervous about the surgery, and according to The Daily Mail, he’d emailed his Edge of Tomorrow Director Doug Liman saying, “Thanks for the good wishes. It will help me face this ordeal.”
Bill is survived by his wife of 30 years, Louise Newbury, and their two children.
