BJ Novak celebrated 40th birthday with friends, a personalized cake, and his ex-girlfriend Mindy Kaling.
On July 31, BJ shared a series of photos from his birthday celebration, that featured the mother-of-one, 40, in the first picture as she gave a speech.
“What a wonderful birthday to celebrate with so many people who make my life what it is – thank you to literally everyone in it for your in @‘s and IRLs. Grateful,” BJ captioned the heartfelt post.
The celebration was complete with a cake with “Birthday With No Regret” written on it, a performance by John Mayer, and a mock proclamation from the city of Los Angeles that marked July 31 as “BJ Novak Day.”

Guests included Bob Saget, The Office alumni Jenna Fischer and Angela Kinsey, John, and, of course Mindy.
The Late Night star and BJ also got together last month to celebrate Mindy’s 40th birthday on June 24.
Even though the author rarely opens up about his relationship with Mindy, he told People in 2014 that even though it is complicated, he “wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.”
