Black Eyed Peas member Taboo went through a silent battle of testicular cancer back in 2014. Since then he has gone on to tour in the UK with his bandmates. The star recently opened up about that experience in an interview and credited will.i.am and apl.de.ap for curing his cancer. Read on for more details.
Taboo told Daily Star in an exclusive interview, “I was almost giving up because the chemo was so intense and aggressive that there were moments I had to find the inner strength within myself.”
He continued, “The thing that kept me fighting on was knowing I could be back on stage with my best friends, that kept my mind off that trauma I was going through, and the hardship.” The musician also credited his wife and kids for getting him through an aggressive 12 weeks of treatment.
Taboo previously told People, “My family and the group were all in shock, but will.i.am instantly reached out to a great doctor who helped me figure out a treatment plan. I was racing against the clock.”

He continued, “I had chemo brain and kept fading in and out, but my team kept me focused because they knew how important it was,” he says.
The Black Eyed Peas have since dropped their former lead singer Fergie and replaced her with Jessica Reynoso, but that doesn’t seem to bother Taboo. “Now to be back in the UK performing is a dream come true, a second lease of life, just to be able to be on that big stage with my best friends creating new music, new memories, living my best life,” he told Daily Star of his bandmates will.i.am. and apl.de.ap.
