Bobby Bones Officially Named As In-House Mentor On 'American Idol'

Radio DJ Bobby Bones was just announced as the in-house mentor for the new season of ABC's American Idol. The news came on Monday night's (November 5), episode of the network's dance competition show, Dancing With The Stars. Keep reading to hear more deets.
After completing his stint of dancing the Viennese Waltz with his partner, Sharna Burgess, Bobby made the exciting announcement.
"I'm super excited. I can't wait to work with them and hopefully make a brand new superstar on American Idol," the author said in a video ABC tweeted during the show. "So be sure to watch, and I will see you soon."
It was just last season of American Idol that Bobby joined the Top 24 singing competitors as they prepared to take the brightly lit purple and blue stage with their all-star celebrity duet partners.

The Arkansas native will be expanding his role next season and will offer his industry expertise to contestants to help them reach their highest musical potential.
Season 17 of the singing competition show will air sometime in 2019. Returning judges include Katy Perry, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie.
