Britney Spears is cutting toxic people from her life. The Princess of Pop, 37, opened up about how she learned people can be fake while living in Los Angeles, and intends on focusing on the positive ones in her life.
On August 20, Britney shared her feelings with her followers in an Instagram update. "Pay close attention to the people who don't clap when you win," the text read.
The “Circus” songstress elaborated on the quote in her caption. "Living in LA is such a trip!!! It can be lonely at times. You never know who to trust, and some people can be fake," she wrote. "I have a very small circle of friends, and simply do what makes me happy!!! It breaks my heart to see the comments on my posts sometimes...So I simply choose not to look anymore...let the clever haters do what they do best...hate!!!"
What exactly triggered Britney’s decision to share this quote and shake off the haters remains unclear. However, her cryptic post comes amid her recent, very public struggles.

2019 has definitely been a whirlwind for the popstar. In April, Britney checked herself into a health facility amid struggling with her mental health. Her father's health had been very taxing on her, and she even cancelled her Las Vegas residency in January.
The “Stronger” singer also requested a temporary restraining order from her forming manager Sam Lutfi on May 7. She cited “vigilante action, bribes, and release of private information” as causes.
However, things are looking much better for Britney as of late. On July 22, she and longtime boyfriend Sam Asghari made their red carpet debut as a couple. The lovebirds sparked engagement rumors, as Britney wore a diamond ring on a certain finger.
