The truth will set you free! Brooks Ayers AKA the former boyfriend of The Real Housewives of Orange Country star Vicki Gunvalson finally spoke out about the rumors his life threatening cancer is fake. Many castmembers have been outspoken about their beliefs that Brooks' cancer is a scheme.

Brooks told Entertainment Tonight, “I have cancer.”

He was diagnosed with Stage 3 Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, which is a form of blood cancer, and has plans to return to Los Angeles for more treatment in October.

"I think they do it to create drama -- manufactured drama and that's sad to me," he reveals. "I've distanced myself in a lot of ways from it. It's useless drama that brings on stress that quite frankly no one needs and in particular my situation. I'm not running from anything."

Current Orange County housewife, Meghan King Edmonds, said previously, “There's a lot of questions that come up. I'm not the only one who has questions about it ... I have major, major questions."
