Carrie Underwood is grateful that she found a match in Mike Fisher. On October 8, the “All American Girl” singer posted an emotional tribute to her husband to celebrate when they met for the first time in 2008. Carrie, 36, and Mike, 39, celebrated nine years of marriage in July, and share two sons.
“11 years ago yesterday, I met the love of my life,” she began the sweet post dedicated to the former professional hockey star. “Patient, kind, the best dad, handsome, of course! Someone who accepts me and all my flaws...the same as me in many ways...opposite in some. But he is my match. The iron to sharpen me....tonight we celebrated at @delposto,” she wrote.
The “Jesus, Take the Wheel” singer continued, “A rare night out with amazing food and even more amazing company and conversation. Here’s to so many more years together. Love you, babe,” she concluded the post with a kissing emoji.
Mike wasted no time to comment on his wife’s adorable message. “Love you babe you’re the best!!!” he wrote with a heart eyes emoji.
The American Idol alum and the athlete first met during a meet-and-greet after one of her concerts. They pursued a long-distance relationship for a few months before they were able to share their first kiss together on New Year’s Eve in 2008.

Carrie and Mike got engaged in December 2009 and tied the knot in July 2010 and celebrated nine years of marriage together this past July. They share two sons, Isaiah, 4, and Jacob, nine months.
The “Before He Cheats” songstress recently gushed about her husband. “I feel like he is the person I was meant to be with,” she said. “I had dated guys and kind of knew, like, ‘No.’ Nothing was ever really wrong, but nothing was really right either. With him, it was like a good partnership. It was an easy relationship to be in.”
She continued, “It means more to me than he probably knows or than I could tell him.”
