Carrie Underwood took home two new awards at the CMT Music Awards on June 5 and became the most decorated artist of the show’s history! The “Cry Pretty” singer has racked up a total of 20 CMT awards and credited her American Idol fans for all her success.
Carrie, 36, reacted to her wins and told ET, “It's crazy!"
She continued, “My husband was like, 'Oh my gosh, your fans like to vote,' and I was like, 'Well, that's how I'm here in the first place. They've been voting for me since day one. Since I was on American Idol. So they know the drill.”
As fans of the “Love Wins” singer know, she won season 4 of the singing competition in 2005.

"I constantly have people telling me they voted for me on Idol, and that was 14 years ago,” she said.
Carrie marveled, "It's just really cool that they're still supporting me after all these years." The singer was awarded for Best Female Video for her song “Love Wins” and Video of the Year for her song “Cry Pretty.”
In addition to thanking her Idol fans, she gave a special shoutout to her husband Mike Fisher during one of her acceptance speeches. Carrie told the audience, “It is my husband's birthday today. Look what they got you!"
