With bestselling albums and dozens of accolades to her name, Carrie Underwood is arguably the greatest country musician of her time. However, there’s one milestone the singer fears she’ll never achieve. In her feature interview for Redbook Magazine, she opened up about motherhood and about why she believes she’s missed the opportunity to grow her family. Keep reading to find out what she had to say.
When asked if she wanted a big family, the 35-year-old answered honestly. “I’m 35, so we may have missed our chance to have a big family,” she said.
Currently, she and husband Mike Fisher only have one child together – a son, Isaiah, who was born in 2015.
She continued, “We always talk about adoption and about doing it when our child or children are a little older. In the meantime, we’re lucky to be a part of organizations that help kids, because our focus right now in our lives is helping as many kids as possible.”

And the Oklahoma native definitely practices what she preaches. At the end of last year, she and Mike threw a charity event to benefit the organization Danita’s Children. The organization is “dedicated to educating, empowering, and equipping the children and families of Haiti to become Christ-like leaders.” The funds donated are used to provide the children with education and tend to their medical and nutritional needs.
Through the “Cry Pretty” singer’s event alone, $500,000 was raised for the Danita’s Children charity.
Carrie has supported and donated to many other children-focused organizations including: St. Jude’s, Dave Thompson Foundation for Adoption, Janie’s Fund, and the Small Steps Project.
