Catelynn Lowell is using her platform for good! On an episode of Teen Mom OG, she and Tyler Baltierra celebrated daughter Carly's birthday, which opened up the discussion of being a birth parent.
As seen on this week's Teen Mom OG, Cate and Tyler's oldest daughter, Carly, who they placed for adoption, was celebrating her 10th birthday.
As always, the adorable couple get a cake and sings to their oldest child. Besides celebrating, the two also realized that as their two youngest daughters, Nova and Vaeda, grow up, they will have to learn how to explain Carly's adoption.
In one scene, Tyler picked Nova up from school and attempted to explain the situation to the 4-year-old. He said that they will be celebrating her birthday without her since she lives with her parents. Nova was upset Carly couldn't be there, but was still excited for cake!

Following the episode, Cate took to Twitter to open up more about being a birth parent and the challenges it brings.
"That’s another hard part of being birth parents... explaining to your children why we can’t be with the other child on birthdays etc," Cate tweeted.
Adding, "But as our kids get older the more they will understand and the more we can explain #TeenMomOG."
