Celeb Hairstylist Patrick Melville on Celeb Pixie Cuts and the Technique Behind the Major Hair Change
Chop, chop? Going from hair that reaches your waistline to a pixie isn't an "Easy as 1,2,3" kind of haircut. There's a lot of technical decisions that are taken into consideration before the cutting shears get to work. Celeb Stylist Patrick Melville shares his opinions (and helpful tips!) on some of the most famous celebrity cuts, including Jennifer Lawrence's recent short hair story.
Jennifer Lawrence
"She reversed the weight on her hair from the back to the front, taking all the length in the back off and leaving a longer, sweeping front."
Hair Tip: "Short hair does need to be cut more often! In between trims, you need to utilize products to help your short hair have a longer shelf life. A great trick is use hair accessories such as headbands and clips."
Miley Cyrus
"She went for a more glam/punk rock look with a bleach blonde hue, as opposed to the soft, side swept fringe, which was a more mature look."
Hair Tip: "Keep in mind your hair texture to make sure it works with that style, as well as your face shape."

Hair Must-Haves: "Schwarzkopf's Osis Rough Rubber for pixies and Whipped Wax for bobs."
Jennifer Hudson
"This is a great look for her, as it really opens up her face. She eliminated the fringe and went for a more sculpted, sleek look."
