
Céline Dion Mourns Husband René Angélil At Public Memorial Service

Céline Dion had tears in her eyes throughout the memorial service for her late husband René Angélil, who died after a battle with cancer on Jan. 14.

The wake was held at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Canada on Jan. 21.

Dion, 47, was escorted by her 14-year-old son, René-Charles, as fans gathered to pay their respects.

Céline’s husband’s death came after a battle with throat cancer for more than 15 years.

"The support we've received has been such a blessing," she told People at the wake.

Angélil was Dion’s manager and mentor and they have three children together–René-Charles, 14, and 5-year-old twins Nelson and Eddy. René is also survived by children from a previous relationship, Anne-Marie, Patrick and Jean-Pierre.
