Channing Tatum suffered a devastating loss earlier this week. He took to social media and posted an emotional tribute to his “very first best friend.”

In a note posted to his Instagram and Twitter, he reminisced about their childhood antics, "Man there's so much to say. I'll never forget his crazy ass and how he stuck up for and protected me when I first moved to Mississippi. He'd fought anybody. All the laughs and trouble we go in. I'll never be able to see that smile of his again in this life.”

“It just made me need to remind everybody don’t put off anything. Seeing a friend, or even calling or texting. You never know what’s next, “ he urged his followers.

The 38-year-old then shared a sweet throwback picture of him and his friend in football gear.

This has been a rough year for the Magic Mike actor, when back in April he and Jenna Dewan announced their split after almost 10 years of marriage.

A source told InTouch Weekly that their previously amicable separation is becoming tense now that custody negotiations are on the table. “They’re both working hard to do what’s in the best interest of their daughter, but it’s just taking way longer than they both expected because they can’t agree on the small details,” the insider said.
