Chris Martin and a newly single Kate Hudson were all smiles on Saturday as they hit the beach with their families.
Martin and Hudson, who have both experienced high profile splits in the last year, made the most of their gorgeous day together.
They were joined by Hudson’s sons, Bingham and Ryder, from her relationship with ex-fiance Matthew Bellamy, and Martin’s kids, Apple and Moses, from his marriage to Gwyneth Paltrow.
Hudson flaunted her trim figure in a sexy colorful bikini, accessorizing with a super cute gold belly chain. And Martin hit the waves in a wetsuit and baseball cap.

The outing appeared to a nice break from the relationship drama as the good friends both deal with the breakdown of their relationships. And despite how cute they look together, Martin and Hudson are reportedly just good friends.

Hudson announced her split from her ex-fiance Bellamy in December, though the pair claim to still be on good terms as they co-parent their children.
And Martin is still legally married to Paltrow after they announced their separation in March 2014.
