While the expectant mom was stepping off an NYC sidewalk, Chrissy narrowly missed being hit by a cyclist, only after being saved by a doorman.

On Tuesday, the pregnant cookbook author was photographed making her way to her awaiting vehicle.

However, as she prepared to cross the street an unknown man rushed over to her, reached his arm out, halting Chrissy, who was looking down, from crossing the road.

While photogs caught the moment the doorman alerted Chrissy to the on-coming cyclist, the actual bike rider was not seen in photos. This caused many on social media to jump to conclusions about the moment between Chrissy and the “mystery man.”  Ultimately leading Chrissy to take to Twitter to set the record straight.

“Nah he actually saved me from getting run over by a cyclist,” Chrissy explained on Twitter after a fan called the unknown man a “creeper,” and asked where her security was. “I should have looked before stepping out!” #CloseCall
