They both launched to superstardom around the same time and dominated the pop charts, but Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera have never recorded a song together — partly because of the two were longtime rivals. Britney first dominated the airwaves with the sizzling 1998 hit “…Baby One More Time” and since then catapulted to become a pop icon.
But a year after she made her amazing debut, her former Mickey Mouse Club co-star threatened to knock her off the charts with her equally blazing single “Genie in a Bottle.” With the parallel success of both stars, an unspoken rivalry ensued.
But now, twenty years after they made their debuts, Christina has spoken out about the possibility of collaborating with her former rival in an interview with Jimmy.

It started when he asked her about the whole situation with Britney back in the day. She explained,"When I was coming up, it was very obvious…. There was the Britney/Christina considered rivalry thing.” She surprisingly noted that had it all went down today, social media might have caused things to go a little differently. "If we had social media back then, we would have probably done a song together and just squashed it,” she said.
That immediately prompted Jimmy to say that it may not be too late to collaborate. And she shockingly agreed, saying, "It’s probably not too late for that. Hey, I’m down.” OMG!
