Oct. 30 2017, Updated 12:43 p.m. ET
Christopher McDonald was arrested on Saturday night, driving his silver Porsche off the highway while intoxicated, and tried to use his celebrity status to get out of trouble with authorities.
The 62-year-old actor, who is most well-known for his roles in Happy Gilmore and Thelma & Louise, told cops, according to witnesses, that he was in Happy Gilmore, but he was still taken into custody.
Christopher, in losing control of his vehicle, hit a gas meter and veered into an embankment near San Bernardino, Calif.
He was taken into a jail nearby until he sobered up and no bail was set.

Accord to Sheriff department records, Christopher was released from jail early Sunday morning after being cited for DUI. This is not the first time Christopher has been arrested for a drinking related incident.
In 2013, he tested for twice the legal limit of alcohol in Wilmington, N.C., and was cited with a DWI.
