Controversial? Veiled Gigi Hadid Graces The First Cover Of Vogue Arabia
March 1 2017, Published 7:39 p.m. ET
Gigi Hadid have been on so many magazine covers, in major ad campaigns and walked major fashion shows.
But Gigi's latest cover is her most special so far, why? One, Because Gigi is half-Palestinian and this is the first Arab Vogue issue, ever! Two, because Gigi's face is covered with a veil!
The model shared the cover on Instgram with an emotional message about acceptance. "I think the beautiful thing about there being international Vogue's is that, as a fashion community, we are able to celebrate, and share with the world, different cultures," the model said.

Gigi added, "Being half-Palestinian, it means the world to me to be on the first-ever cover(s) of @voguearabia, and I hope that this magazine will show another layer of the fashion industry's desire to continue to accept, celebrate, and incorporate all people & customs and make everyone feel like they have fashion images and moments they can relate to... & learn and grow in doing so."
Gigi thanked Vogue's editor in-chief Princess Deena AbudelAziz and Inez and Vinoodh who photographed her.
