Are Derick Dillard and Jill Duggar finally returning to Counting On? Nearly a year after the lawyer-to-be’s transphobic Twitter comments got them kicked off the TLC show, Derick opened up about his relationship with the network these days.

A curious fan asked Derick a question about filming on Twitter. “Hey, question for you and jill….I assume youre still as close with jills family as before but how does filming for the show work? Do you not attend events they film if possible (like lauren/josiahs tea party) or do they just edit around you? Thanks!”
Jill and Derick have been absent from several major moments this season, including Jinger Duggar and Jeremy Vuolo’s gender reveal party, and Josiah Duggar and Lauren Swanson’s wedding.

In response to the fan’s question, Derick wrote, “TLC is probably not going to invite us if they don’t want us there.”
Fans weren’t sure what to make of Derick’s reply. Some felt he was trying to imply that TLC stages family events for the show — why else would the network get to decide the guest list, fans reasoned. “I believe he's trying to subtly say that a lot of these events are staged strictly for the show,” one fan noted on Reddit.
Others felt bad that Jill was missing out on family events. “You kind of have to feel bad for Jill that she may be missing out on family things, staged or not, because of this moron,” a fan slammed.
