Cynthia Bailey And Peter Thomas’ Divorce Dilemma! — 10 Signs The ‘RHOA’ Couple’s Marriage Was Falling Apart Before Their Split Reveal!

Cynthia Bailey revealed in March that her marriage to Peter Thomas was quickly crumbling as the reality TV couple attempted to salvage what was left of their union following Thomas’ messy cheating scandal!

“The status of our relationship is we are not in a good place. Peter is in Charlotte, and as you can see, I'm in New York," Bailey told The Daily Dish. "We're definitely not together. I have been taking some time for myself to just kind of figure out how I would like to move forward. We haven't officially done anything at this point, but we are definitely talking about taking steps to officially move forward in a different direction."

But before the cheating video drama — which was captured for The Real Housewives of Atlanta’s Season 8 — rocked their marriage, there were numerous other signs that the duo was possibly in trouble!

One of the standout moments of discord for the couple was their 2010 wedding, which was filmed for RHOA’s Season 3. Ahead of the ceremony, Bailey’s family members slammed the model for considering marrying Thomas. And her mother and sister even contemplated hiding her marriage certificate to attempt to keep the two from walking down the aisle together!

Their issues seemed to cool down greatly following their nuptials, though. However, toward the end of Season 7, Bailey was again facing talk from some of her castmates, especially Porsha Williams, that there were cheating rumors swirling around Atlanta, Georgia, about her husband. And during the summer of 2015, the cheating talk grew even more when Thomas was filmed rubbing the chest of a mystery woman while out at a bar!

In interviews after the questionable video of her husband leaked, Bailey claimed that she was not divorcing her husband but had been embarrassed by the scandal! And she later revealed that the two were actually having issues before the video surfaced! “In terms of the video, it was just embarrassing and just unnecessary and reckless on his part. And that's part of the issue that we have as, you know, I feel like as husband and wife, you have to protect each other," she told The Daily Dish. "Something like that, in his mind, was small, but it was huge to me, because it just lives on, and I'm always having to defend it and defend him. And it's not my stuff. He did this. Why do I have to be stuck with defending it?"

During RHOA’s Season 8 it was also revealed that Bailey and Thomas were primarily living apart, with Bailey living in Atlanta while Thomas spent most of his time in Charlotte, North Caroline, where his sports bar is located. She even opened up to OKMagazine.com about the stress their living arrangement added to their marriage. “Marriage is hard,” she said. “It’s definitely not the ideal situation to be in. It’s kind of nice—no matter how busy you are—to sleep in the same bed at night.”

As RHOA’s Season 8 came to a close, Bailey became even more cryptic in her talk about her marriage, seeming to hint that she wasn’t sure what the future held for the two. And once RHOA’s Season 8 reunion show’s first part aired in March 2016, it was clear that things still hadn’t fully been worked out!

In an interview with Reality Checked with Amy Phillips after the Season 8 reunion show had kicked off, Bailey admitted that her bond with Thomas was breaking down again as they continued to deal with the issues from his cheating scandal. “Peter and I are not in a great place right now. Honestly, I don’t know what’s going to happen with us right now. We’re still trying to figure it out. It’s complicated,” she said. She added that she wasn’t certain what if they would be able to save their marriage!  “I never said that we were perfect. I don’t know what’s gonna happen. I usually have all the answers for all the questions, but when it comes to my marriage, I just don’t know right now,” Bailey said. “I just know that it’s not good right now.”
