The actress, who plays Jedi warrior Rey in the films, had fans panicking last week when she revealed to Rolling Stone that she may not return to the Star Wars series after The Last Jedi.
When asked about the chances of her coming back for a reboot in the next 30 years, she said: "Who knows? I honestly feel like the world may end in the next 30 years, so, if in 30 years we are not living underground in a series of interconnected cells ... then sure.”
She added, “I am really, really excited to do the third thing and round it out, because ultimately, what I was signing on to was three films. So in my head, it's three films. I think it will feel like the right time to round it out."
That didn’t really sound like a firm yes, which is why it worried fans. It was also a concern as Daisy is one of the few women to star as the lead heroine in the classic sci-fi series.
But she explained her recent comments in an interview with Entertainment Tonight over the weekend, saying, “That was the end of a very long day, at the end of a very long shoot. It was pouring down rain in Montreal. We were talking about where the trilogy was going and… all I said was as far as I was concerned, when I signed on, I was signing onto [episodes] seven, eight, and nine.”
She went on to say, "I don't know about any plans beyond [Episode IX]. That's for Disney, that's for everyone else in charge to decide."
So, it sounded like she may be up for another movie, if the powers that be greenlight another one. Hope hasn’t been lost yet for fans!
