Erin Foster is either really excited about her dad David Foster’s new girlfriend Katharine McPhee or totally trolling the record producer. Erin, 35, took to her Instagram story to post a series of photos of Katharine, 33, and her dad, 67, attending the Grammy Museum Gala this week, where David received the Architects of Sound Award. In the pics, Erin called Katharine her “new step mom” and captioned a pic of David and Katharine, “my parents.” While Erin could be hinting that Katharine and her dad are getting serious, she might also be pointing out that a woman two years younger than she is could potentially be her new mom (and she might not be happy about it)! Erin shared this snap of Katharine and David talking seriously over dinner. “Excited about my new step mom,” Erin captioned the pic.
Erin then posted this pic of David and Katharine performing a duet on stage. “My parents,” she wrote, including an emoji of a family of three.
While Katharine and David have yet to confirm their relationship, the two were spotting getting cozy at Nobu in Malibu in May. A source told E! News that the pair was “very intimate during their dinner” and that David even kissed Katharine’s cheek “several times.”

“They were acting as if they were a couple,” the insider added. "By the end of the date, Katharine sat on David's side of the table and cuddled him with a blanket.”
Katharine and David have known each other for over a decade. The two first met when David mentored Katharine during an episode of American Idol back in 2006.
