Denise Richards Admits Divorce From Charlie Sheen Forced Her To Join Reality TV

After Denise Richards divorced ex-husband Charlie Sheen in 2006, she had no where to turn to when it came to paying her legal fees. The Wild Things actress was forced to join reality TV to pay her bills after Charlie "bled her dry."

In an interview with the Daddy Issues podcast, the 48-year-old detailed her messy split from Two And A Half Men star, 53.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was married to Charlie from 2002 until 2006. They share daughters Sam, 15, and Lola, 14.

After signing the divorce papers, Denise had to make ends meet somehow and was offered a deal to star in the E! reality show, Denise Richards: It's Complicated. The show aired on the network for two seasons in 2008.

"He said he wanted to bleed me dry, and he did. Those legal fees add up quite fast," she admitted.

"Back during the show I did at E!, I had to do that. I had too many legal bills with my ex-husband. It was difficult for me to get a job back then because I was perceived as doing something very negative with Charlie," the mother of three confessed.

She added, "So that was very hard - when you’re misunderstood and you want to keep your personal life private and when it’s out there."
