Derick Dillard may not know what he signed up for. Jill Duggar's husband participated in his law school’s spirit week last month, and fans were shocked to see the former Counting On star dressed up as a character from the show Riverdale!

Derick posted two pics from the spirit week shenanigans. In the first photo, he wears a letterman jacket alongside his classmates. He said the theme was “high school stereotypes,” but Derick had an “R” on his jacket, just like the show’s main character Archie Andrews. Plus, his classmates wore Riverdale Vixen cheerleading uniforms.
Fans were shocked to see Derick dressed as a character from the show, even if it wasn’t entirely intentionally, especially since plots can include pre-marital sex, homosexuality, and drug use.

“Riverdale? How do you convince jilly and your in laws that it’s a fundie approved show??” one fan asked. “Your father n law would probably disown your family if he found out you were watching that show lol,” said another follower.
In the second photo, Derick dressed up as a ‘50s greaser, which also took fans by surprise. “Didn’t they talk about premarital sex over and over in the movie Grease?!” one fan asked.
Although all of the Duggars are conservative Christians, Derick has been the most vocal about his beliefs, making his costume choices all the more shocking. (He didn’t even let his own kids dress up for Halloween.) The former TLC star’s transphobic Twitter comments against Jazz Jennings even got him kicked off Counting On.
