10 Reasons To Be Excited For Electric Zoo: Transformed This Labor Day Weekend
It’s no secret that EDM (electronic dance music) is totally having its moment right now—hello, even Justin Bieber’s new song “What Do You Mean” is tropical house—and the best way to immerse yourself is this Labor Day weekend at New York City’s premiere festival, Electric Zoo: Transformed. The annual festival on Randall’s Island this year, as its new name suggests, will be transformed with sensational stages, an all-star lineup (hint: there’s a major A-list actor who is a huge DJ!) and many more surprises to come! OKMagazine.com will be there to cover all of the action, but here are 10 things we are totally looking forward to this weekend!
Ansel Elgort DJ's at NYC Party with No Shirt on
Did you know Ansel Elgort is also a DJ? The Divergent / The Fault In Our Stars actor has not quit his day job entirely, but he’s also an amazing musician. Ansolo will perform at the Main Stage on Saturday, Sept. 5 at 2:55 PM and trust us, we saw him at Ultra Music Festival in March, he’s a crowdpleaser—and not just because he may take his shirt off.
Alesso - Forever Album Launch Party At KOKO In London
Alesso, who had the greatest EDM album of the year without question, is set to close the festival with a bang at Main Stage on Sunday, September 6. FYI: He’s also the DJ who taught Zac Efron how to spin for his role in We Are Your Friends!
2015 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 1 - Day 2
Move aside, Ruby Rose, you’re not the only fierce female DJ we have a girl crush on! Alison Wonderland, who will take over Riverside at 6 PM on Friday, September 4, will definitely make it a happy hour with electropop.
If you haven’t heard Galantis’ "Peanut Butter Jelly," you’re missing out! The duo, who have produced and won Grammy’s for the like of—no big deal—Britney Spears and Katy Perry, have intense energy that will get the crowd at MasterCard Hilltop Arena on Friday at 7:20 PM going wild.

Let’s not forget the unforgettable fashion of Electric Zoo, with ravers showing off their best kandi, tutus and neon.
New York City’s legendary duo The Martinez Brothers have a two-hour set at the Sunday School Awakenings stage on Friday and in case you miss it—or need more—they’ll be at the official afterparty at Williamsburg hotspot Output after!
2015 Coachella Valley Music And Arts Festival - Weekend 1 - Day 1
We have a major crush on Oliver Heldens, and not just because of his good looks—it will be any minute until a pop star scoops him up as her boyfriend—but for his sexy future house. Catch him shuffle at Main Stage on Sunday at 5:55 PM.
Probably one of the craziest nights we’ve had in a long time was back in July for NYC’s EDM cruise Bounce Boat with music by TJR. The former Pitbull producer made one of the hottest tracks of summer—“How Ya Feelin”—and we’re stoked to hear him drop it again!
Another A-lister showing up? Dan Bilzerian, the poker player Playboy that dominates your newsfeed with his, um, shenanigans. Rumor has it he spent over $650,000 on a VIP table for Electric Zoo: Transformed, so we’re sure his Instagram feed will be nothing short of insane.
Miami Music Week - March 25, 2015
You only get a few chances in life to witness something legendary and for EZoo, it will be on Saturday when Above & Beyond closes the night at Main Stage. The trio have been on the trance music scene for 15 years and even attracted the likes of Bryan Cranston to their last festival performance.
Tickets and more information is available on the Electric Zoo website.
