Ellen DeGeneres has been an entertainment powerhouse for three decades. But the television host and comedian may be considering trading it all for a quieter life Down Under when her talk show contract ends in 2017.
A source told OK! that DeGeneres is considering the move to Australia in order to focus more time on her relationship with her wife, Portia de Rossi, who is from Horsham, Australia.
“Ellen will be nearing 60 when her contract ends, and she feels like that’s enough TV for her,” the insider said. “She always told herself she would hang it up when it started to feel like a grind, and it’s been hard to keep up her famous level of enthusiasm year after year.”

The source added that DeGeneres is committed to making time for her wife and is open to scaling back her career for de Rossi.
“Ellen’s enjoyed her time in the limelight, but she doesn’t need that forever. She wants them to ride off into the sunset together,” the source said.
