Ellen Pompeo confessed on the December 10 episode of Jada Pinkett Smith’s Red Table Talk that she hasn't spoken to former Grey's Anatomy co-star, Patrick Dempsey in three years. His character, Derek "McDreamy" Shepherd died on the drama in 2015 after 11 seasons.
After Patrick's character died in a dramatic car crash at the end of the medical drama's eleventh season, the actor left the show to pursue other passions.
“We haven’t spoken since he’s left the show,” Ellen admitted in a convo with Jada.
“I have no hard feelings toward him, he’s a wonderful actor and we made, you know, the best TV you could make together," Ellen explained.

“That’s a talented man right there. He did 11 amazing years,” the 49-year-old said.
The mom of three concluded, "Typically when people leave the show, they need to sort of re-find themselves, who they are. You need that time to figure out who you are without the show. So, we have not spoken but I will always have a place in my heart for Patrick.”
