July 26 2017, Updated 2:55 p.m. ET
Two college students who had been talking on Tinder for three years finally met face-to-face on Good Morning America. Josh Avsec, 22, and Michelle Arendas, 21, both students at Kent State University, had been messaging each other since 2014 before uniting IRL. Click through to watch the awkward and adorable moment they first laid eyes on each other.
It all started when Josh tweeted his and Michelle's conversation. "Hahahah one day I'm going to meet this girl and it's going to be epic. Look at the dates of our Tinder texts," he wrote. His tweet quickly went viral.
When Tinder staff saw Josh's tweet, they offered to set the couple up with a trip to Hawaii for their first date.
But before going on their romantic getaway, the pair had to actually meet first. The couple connected for the first time in-person on Good Morning America.
After Josh and Michelle answered questions about themselves, with a wall separating them, hosts Michael Strahan and Lara Spencer watched as the college students laid eyes on each other for the very first time.

Josh immediately hugged Michelle. "It is so good to finally meet you Michelle,' he said. "I'm blushing like crazy!"
Then they were promptly whisked off for a week in Maui. Not a bad way to start a relationship!
Michelle told Good Morning America that she let the joke go on for so long because, "I’m stubborn and I wasn’t going to be the one to ruin a good joke like that. I’m committed to my sense of humor, that was definitely it for me. I didn’t want to be the one to break the joke."
