Eileen Davidson returned to The Young and the Restless for a two-episode stint last week. Fans of the show complained about how different her character of Ashley Abbott was compared to what she used to be like for several years on the long running daytime soap. Read on for all the details.
Eileen, 59, made her triumphant return to the show on March 28 and 29.
Some fans were happy to see her back. “Enjoyed seeing you today on Y&R even though it will be fleeting,” one wrote on her Instagram Monday, April 1.
Others were less than thrilled. “Love that your back on Y&R but hate your storyline. Being evil is just not you.”

Fans of the show are calling Ashley’s character a “bully” for trying to take control over her father’s business Jabot.
She wants to be top dog over her brother Jack (Peter Bergman), and the way she’s going about doing it isn’t working with them
“Ashley used to be one of my favorite characters,” one tweeted. “I’m glad Eileen left the show because I want Ashley gone. They have made her character a horrible witch. John Abbott would despise the hateful traitor she’s become. She doesn’t deserve to be an Abbott. She’s Ashley Davis!”
Eileen isn’t doing with Y&R just yet. She’s appearing in an upcoming memorial episode to their late costar Kristoff St. John. It’s set to air on April 29.
