Eileen Davidson returned to The Young and the Restless for a two-episode stint last week. Fans of the show complained about how different her character of Ashley Abbott was compared to what she used to be like for several years on the long running daytime soap. Read on for all the details.

Some fans were happy to see her back. “Enjoyed seeing you today on Y&R even though it will be fleeting,” one wrote on her Instagram Monday, April 1.

“Ashley used to be one of my favorite characters,” one tweeted. “I’m glad Eileen left the show because I want Ashley gone. They have made her character a horrible witch. John Abbott would despise the hateful traitor she’s become. She doesn’t deserve to be an Abbott. She’s Ashley Davis!”

Eileen isn’t doing with Y&R just yet. She’s appearing in an upcoming memorial episode to their late costar Kristoff St. John. It’s set to air on April 29.
