The entire world was blindsided by Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt’s divorce — even the actor himself! — but no one was more stunned by the tragic news than George Clooney, who was left speechless.
“What happened?” Clooney said before being informed of the divorce filing on Sept. 20. "I didn't know that. Wow. I feel very sorry, then. This is the first I’ve heard of it.”
During an interview with CNN at the United Nations, the actor had no clue Hollywood’s most infamous couple had split.

Clearly shocked by the news and at a loss for words, the 55-year-old mumbled and got very tongue-tied talking about the Jolie-Pitt family.

“That's a sad story and unfortunate for a family,” he continued. “It's an unfortunate story about a family. I feel very sorry to hear that."

Jolie filed for divorce from her husband of two years and more than a decade together citing “irreconcilable differences.” She is seeking custody of their children, Maddox, 15, Pax, 12, Zahara, 11, Shiloh, 10, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 8.
