Here’s What Georgina Chapman Really Knew About Husband Harvey Weinstein

In the wake of Harvey Weinstein’s sexual harassment and assault scandal, his wife Georgina Chapman announced last week that she’s divorcing him after ten years of marriage. “My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions,” she said in a statement. Some, however, wonder how little — or how much — Georgina knew of her husband’s behavior behind closed doors.
“Their relationship started out with the understanding that if you scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours,” a source close to the couple told People magazine. Georgina founded the fashion label Marchesa in 2004, and Harvey used his clout in the film industry to get famous celebs to wear her designs.
The insider claimed Georgina knew her husband had a bad temper and apologized “many times for his verbally rough behavior.”
However, according to the source, Georgina had no idea about her husband’s alleged sexual misconduct. “She never would have stayed married if she’d known,” the source claimed. “She was never with Harvey when he behaved like this.”

“This week has been a never-ending nightmare for Georgina,” the insider added.
According to another source close to the fashion designer, Georgina is focusing “all her energy on her two young children to try to protect them from everything that’s going on.” She and Harvey have two children together, a daughter, 7, and a son, 4.
In the past two weeks, over 40 women have come out with allegations of sexual harassment and assault against Harvey. Most recently, Games of Thrones actress Lena Heady claimed Harvey once tried to force her into his hotel room.
