Food Network personality Giada De Laurentiis is not going down without a fight… a culinary one that is. After getting majorly dissed by actress Nicole Kidman during a cooking segment on Ellen last year, she aimed to redeem herself on the hit talk show this week where the Academy Award winner was nowhere in sight. She appeared on Ellen in May of last year, where the Moulin Rouge actress decided to get a little critical regarding her focaccia bread that she was preparing during the segment.
“It’s a little tough. I know you’re not meant to criticize but it’s a little tough.” Culinary burn! Ellen, in her usual hilarious manner, decided to bring up the moment during Giada’s appearance this past Monday.
“Last time you were here, we had a few hiccups,” Ellen said, before shifting gears on who was to blame. “It was Nicole Kidman’s fault.” "She’s not here, right?”, Giada said while looking around the set. “I know you surprise people with people coming out of things."

Turns out it was a television issue regarding how the bread tasted when Nicole took a bite, with Ellen saying "The thing is, they were sitting out too long. I think someone made them way earlier in the day. So that was the problem. This time we don’t have that problem but I’m glad you came back.”
She went head first into her culinary redemption on Monday, while having some fun with Ellen during the segment which included them throwing dough back and forth with one another and Giada accidentally squirting lemon on the talk show host’s shirt.
Even though everything didn’t go as planned, her pizza turned out to be delicious, as Giada said, "I wish Nicole was here. She would like them.” Take that, Kidman!
