Social media fans and critics alike are outraged over Versace’s new fashion campaign for appearing racist and featuring top models Gigi Hadid, 21, and Karlie Kloss, 23, as young mothers!
In the Fall/Winter 2016 photos for the Italian fashion house, Gigi and Karlie play mothers who, knowing their current age, would have had to given birth in their teens to have children that age!
Many commenters feel the fashion label is glorifying teen pregnancy and even called the photos “Teen Mom: Versace Edition!”

Famed photographer Bruce Weber shot the campaign but received heat on social media.

In Gigi’s shot, she and her presumable husband are walking with two children, one in a stroller. Critics called attention to the fact that the little girl, an African American child, is secured in the stroller by a chain.

Many users felt this touched too closely to the United States’ history of using chains during the times of slavery.

One user wrote, “Why does the black baby have the chain?” Another user wanted the art director, Sam Shahid, to answer for his decisions.
