Justin Bieber and Hailey Baldwin shocked the world when the news dropped over the weekend that the couple is getting ready to walk down the aisle — including their parents! As OK! readers know, Justin reportedly popped the question on Saturday night in the Bahamas just one month after the couple reconciled.
And Justin’s parents were among the first to share their thoughts on his future marriage to Hailey. His dad Jeremy posted a pic of the singer posing in the sunset with the caption, “Proud is an understatement! Excited for the next chapter!” While his mom Pattie tweeted, “Love Love Love Love Love Love Love” shortly after the news was made public.
Now, Hailey's dad has spoken out about the shocking engagement as well. "Sweet smile on my face! me & wife (Kennya) Always pray 4 God's will!! He is moving in hearts of JB&HB. Let’s all pray for His will to be done. Love you 2 so much !!!,” he wrote in an enthusiastic tweet that has since been deleted, adding the hashtags: “#Godstiming” and “#bestisyettocome.” He ended his message by wishing the happy couple “congrats,” and tagging the "Love Yourself" singer’s father and mother.
Alongside his note, the devout Christian also shared a Bible verse about the importance of husbands loving their wives. “Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave Himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless,” the Bible verse read. Could this be a message to Justin?
Although it seems as though he is happy for the couple, the dad-of-two was certainly not a fan of the relationship the first time they dated in 2016. A source close to the family told OK! exclusively back then that, “Stephen’s not the type to get angry or controlling, but he does have legitimate concerns about Hailey and Justin’s romance," adding that he's "far from happy about Justin’s promiscuous behavior.”
OK! even learned that he sat down with the singer at the time to discuss how he’s been treating the model. Stephen insisted that Justin “take care of his daughter” and “treat her like a lady.”
