Reggie Ossé, known to fans as Combat Jack, has died tragically after a battle with colon cancer at age 48. The hip hop pioneer, who interviewed guests like Ice Cube, Jordan Peele, and Cardi B on his podcast The Jack Combat Show, started off as a lawyer. He represented artists like Jay-Z and Roc-A-Fella Records before making the switch to podcasting. Considered one of hip hop’s “most important historians and voices,” several in the hip hop community have posted tributes to Combat Jack and the impact his career had on the industry.
