The holiday season is officially in high gear, which means tons of festive gatherings with family and friends! But how do you transform your home into a space that will knock guests' socks off? Interior design expert Jasmine Rose, principal of Jasmine Rose Design, has decorated homes and office spaces all over Manhattan, and now, she's sharing her top five tips for holiday entertaining exclusively with OK! Magazine.
1. Pick a theme (and stick to it)!
Before you begin pulling boxes out of storage, have a plan in mind for how you want to decorate your home for the holidays. The holiday season is chaotic enough — you want your decor to be cohesive and thoughtful.
2. Go natural!
Let nature inspire you. Head to your local farmers market and stock up on fresh garland, magnolias, and evergreen boughs. Even something as simple as a sprig of pine tucked into a folded napkin will seem intentionally festive.
3. Go bold on the table.
Move beyond the traditional red and green color scheme and bring in a festive pattern, lush greenery, and ambient candles. Add a touch of sophistication with monogrammed linen napkins and an elegant place setting.
4. Don’t forget to engage your sense of smell!
Incorporate candles, diffusers, and room sprays that give off delectable holiday scents, like pine and peppermint!

5. It’s ok to fake it (the tree, that is)!
If the maintenance — or fire hazard — of a live tree isn’t for you, there are plenty of artificial trees that could fool even the most discerning eye! Added benefit — you can use it year after year.
