Idris Elba couldn’t stop smiling as he introduced his girlfriend Sabrina Dhowre to Prince Charles on Thursday evening. The Dark Tower actor brought along Sabrina to the One Million Young Dinner at Buckingham Palace, which benefited the Prince’s Trust charity. At the exclusive event, Idris also praised Charles’ future daughter-in-law Meghan Markle, whom Idris called “a beacon” for the English people!
Idris beamed as he introduced Sabrina, the former Miss Vancouver, to the Prince. Idris told Sky News that if it weren’t for the Prince’s Trust, he may have never become an actor.
"If I pinpoint a time when I didn't have any money, my parents didn't have any money, I needed some help, the Prince's Trust came through — the Prince's Trust and my Auntie May,” Idris shared.
"The Prince's Trust gave me some money to go to the National Youth Music Theatre,” the Golden Globe winner explained, adding that without the Trust, “I probably wouldn’t be standing here today, that’s sort of the truth.”

Idris also praised Prince Harry’s soon-to-be wife, Meghan. "Meghan Markle, as a person, regardless of her color, is a role model,” he said. “As a strong woman marrying into our Royal Family, she's going to be a role model for any woman.”
"The point is that of course our society is one of mixed heritage and it's nice to see Meghan within the Royal Family. It's great,” he continued. "And of course she's going to be a beacon and of course she's going to be someone that people look towards."
