Watch: ‘Big Brother’ Contestants Left Scrambling As Earthquake Hits California

The contestants of Big Brother were shook to the core when the July 5th earthquake hit California. Although they were scared, the competitors did their best to remain calm and stay safe.
The East Coasters taken by surprise, since the natural occurrences are much more common in the Golden State.
The reality competition contestant Christie was especially scared.
“Honestly, experiencing an earthquake is the craziest thing I ever felt,” she revealed during a confessional. “I’m from Jersey. I never experienced something like this.”

Competitor Jessica, who hails from Chicago, was visibly shocked. “Everything’s shaking,” she said and pointed to the ceiling.
Jack, who lives in Tampa, remained calm and told Nick, another New Jersey native, to move away from a chandelier he was standing under.
Though slightly panicked, the contestants worked together to move to safe parts of the house, such as under a table or away from the kitchen cabinets.
The quake struck near Ridgecrest, not far from the Mojave Desert around 8:20 that evening and lasted for about 1 minute, reaching a magnitude of 7.1.
